Looks like the new players are starting to creep up on Tigers legacy even more evident after this Golf Digest rankings report came out. Check it out here: "Golf has a new money king. Jordan Spieth earned $53.03 million on and off the course last year to lead all golfers, according to Golf Digest rankings out this week. Tiger Woods fell to third overall, relinquishing the top spot for the first time in the magazine's 13 years of tracking. The 22-year-old Spieth enjoyed a stellar 2015, winning two major championships and finishing in the top five at the other two. Last January, he agreed to a new 10-year sponsorship deal with Under Armour.
The 40-year-old Woods, on the other hand, finished an injury-riddled season 162nd on the PGA Tour money list. Still, his $48.55 million in earnings — almost entirely accumulated off the course — makes for a nice haul on a down year. The earnings totals take into account on-course income for the PGA Tour and five international golf tours. They also include off-course earnings like endorsements, appearance fees, product lines and course architecture, among other sources.
Phil Mickelson was the second-highest earner with $52.3 million. Woods, fellow Nike athlete Rory McIlroy and retired legend Arnold Palmer rounded out the top five. Retired great Jack Nicklaus finished sixth." Source: cnbc.com
